So this is Christmas…

Posted by Wesley
We've been scoffing at the turrón, garland and the Baby Jesus in shops now for about a month, but today, Christmas officially begins.

Alla Tu

Posted by Wesley
What is the most stressful moment of your day? You might consider me lucky when I tell you mine. It's around 7:50 p.m. when I turn on the television to watch “Allá Tú. I am not a fan of television. In fact, I think I could estimate the number of hours I watch T.V. a week at around ten, sometimes less. I have better things to do. Well, I have better things to do the other 23 hours there are in a day but not when the singing boxes come on

My Nintendo Revolution

Posted by Wesley
So I hear that Nintendo is coming out with something new on my birthday. Something called “Nintendo Revolution or the likes. I can't say I know much about it. My Nintendo knowledge ended with the first console. This first console is the one you can see in the picture below.

Mi Nintendo Revolution

Posted by Wesley

The Love That Dares Not Speak Its Name

On 11 July 2005, the first homosexual couple were married in Spain. A week later, Mahmoud Asgari and Ayaz Marhoni were hanged in Iran for “committing homosexual acts. On one side of the world, the cause for equal human rights is advancing at a pleasingly swift pace. On the other side (going either way), the same cause seems to be crawling deeper and deeper into a sectarian hole

Posted by Wesley

Posted by Wesley
Y no podía haber hecho mejor elección.

Postcard from London: Caught off Guard

Posted by Wesley
The first time I went to London, I was 17 years old and it was a school trip. It was the first time I had stepped on anything other than North American soil. It didn't matter what there was, who there was or what I did; it was Europe and that's all that was important. It was London, the land of Are You Being Served? and Mary Poppins and everyone's favourite Cockney Dick Van Dyke...

Culture for the hoi polloi

Posted by Wesley
I had lived here for a few years before I finally discovered that musical and other cultural events do in fact exist, but it's not as easy to squeeze into the world of “culture that we are offered in a medium-sized city.

Cultura para el “hoi polloi

Posted by Wesley

Martha Stewart is America's domestic goddess. Most Americans, at least the ones who have a house to run and guests to entertain, want to be just like her. And yet she is the woman America loves to hate.

Algo con que deleitar a tus invitados

Posted by Wesley

Postcard from Andorra

Posted by Wesley
While spending a weekend in a country is not nearly enough to draw conclusions, had I been given a couple more days, I could have done an in-depth analysis of one of the smallest countries in the world.

Postcard from N.Y.P.D. and L!

Posted by Wesley
Mostly out of coincidence more than out of desire, though I thoroughly enjoyed them all, I have had the opportunity to take several trips in the first few months of this year. January found me in New York with my family, February in Andorra, March in Dublin and Paris and April in Lanzarote.

Summertime...

Posted by Wesley
Take a walk around San Sebastian and you'll see…the Americans are on vacation. You see, while Europe takes August off, Americans tend to take their week or two of vacation time in May, June, or July. When I was in college, final exams were the week of my birthday, May 9th. Then we were off! August meant already thinking about going back to school.
