The UK Parliament is debating measures that will see all forms of commercial paranormal activities included in the new Consumer Protection Regulations.
A change in the law could mean mediums, psychics, and healers could be prosecuted if they cannot justify their claims. There are also fears that the law would give sceptics a platform for making malicious complaints.
Spiritualists are complaining that a genuine religion is being discriminated against.
Under the new laws, some mediums believe they will be obliged to prove what they do. And when you’re in the business of contacting spirits in the afterlife, that’s not easy.
Nevertheless, the medium community has enough foresight to see potential problems in the future.
